253/365 "Everybody Wants to Rule The World" Tears For Fears

4/15 Canada/USA trip

After breakfast we made our way over to the ROM (Royal Ontario Museum) and spent a good few hours filling my head with knowledge and my memory card with pictures. Then it was other the road to a place called "Fresh", a vegetarian/vegan restaurant where we had these delicious vegan burgers and gorgeous smoothies (Christian's was warm apple pie flavour and mine cherry blossom)

We then made our way over to the harbour front to look at the Spadina Quay Wetlands and the music garden, I saw the biggest wild butterfly ever but couldn't get a picture of it :( We then strolled along the waterfront and saw HUGE fish in the river and I mean HUGE, about a meter long! We got to the Harbour front centre around 5pm ready for the opening of the Toronto Vegetarian (and Vegan) food fayre. Tried so many samples of all the yummy food and it was great to be surrounded by so many people that care about the same things I do :) Once we had eaten all we could and looked at all the stalls we made our way over to the famous CN tower. We went on the simulation ride and it was actually pretty fun and then there was a little queue before heading up 347m to the observation deck. Again, took lots and lots of pictures before walking over the glass flooring (a little scary!) and then heading back down.

On the way back to the guest house we grabbed some food stuffs from McDonald's (see picture) and watched some TV before bed. I quick look on goggle maps tells me we walked at least 9 miles today and all in flip flops....my poor feet! :)

PS The days are going too quick :'( Only one more day in Toronto!

Enclosed are pictures of my work vehicle; I'm a paramedic and every 3rd day I'm either driving or riding in this earth stomping bad boy. Painted what is believed to be the most visible color on earth, this 1999 Ford F-350 isn't exactly a thing of beauty, but it's big enough to make it's own small hole in the ozone. It has it's own special mods - MX-7000 Code 3 Light bar, siren, and air horn that is designed make those too dumb or too distracted clear a path. No engine mods, as far as I know, but it contains a 7.3L Power Stroke Diesel that actually has a relatively fast accelleration despite having several thousand lbs of metal box, trained personnel, fun toys and exotic drugs on its back. Not sure of it's exact mpg, but it isn't helped by the fact that half the time we pull out our foot goes straight to the floor, taking those back country roads as fast as possible, with a top speed of just over 90 mph on the highway (trust me, we've tried to go faster). No polar bears killed, but one night an unlucky buck met it's demise (pics attached). And the final point in it's favor is that this contraption is designed specifically to prolong the life of: you guessed it, another one of those resource consuming, pollutant spewing, earth damaging and all around nasty humans."
